Job Summary: 

The Dining Room Server is primarily responsible for taking orders and for serving food and beverages to members and guests in the various dining room areas. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Must be 18 years old. 

  • Works to provide a welcoming, friendly, courteous, efficient, well-timed and flexible dining experience for members and guests. 

  • Advises members and guests on menu choices, utilizes suggestive selling techniques and accurately take orders 

  • Serves food and/or beverages in a timely manner 

  • Cleans assigned service areas and busses and resets tables as needed 

  • Maintains supplies (linen, service ware, etc.) at station and restocks when necessary 

  • Completes side work as assigned 

  • Presents checks, collects signed chit or cash (if a non-member). 

  • Complies with state and local liquor, health and smoking regulations and all other applicable laws and regulations 

  • Maintains an overall understanding of dining rooms and activities taking place   

  • Familiarizes self with menu items, prices, and hours of operation for all facilities, any banquets and upcoming events 

  • Ability to accurately use the POS system  

  • Memorizes all table numbers 

  • Complies with Club and departmental rules and procedures 

 

  • Additional Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Immediately cleans spillage in the pantry and dining room  

  • During slow periods, polishes silverware, rolls napkins and completes other side work 

  • Returns tables, chairs and highchairs to proper place when finished 

  • Attends and participates in team, departmental meetings and Club meetings as requested 

  • Other duties as assigned 

 

  • Minimum Education, Experience & Other Skills: 

  • Previous wait assistant/bussing or serving experience is required 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is desired 

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and non-verbally with others 

  • Ability to work with all personality types even in adverse situations 

 

  • Mental & Physical Requirements:   

  • Ability to lift at 25 – 100 pounds 

  • Maintains a professional appearance appropriate to position and as per Club policy 

  • Ability to climb on step stool or ladder in order to complete elements of the job or facilitate 

  • maintenance issues 

  • Bend, lean and stoop without hindrance 

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be required to walk or stand for long 

  • periods of time, to climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl 

  • While performing this job, the employee may be exposed to sunlight, heat, wet and/or humid 

  • conditions 

  • Fine motor skills 

  • Ability to prioritize, anticipate situations, and take quick action 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and recommend/implement effective solutions 

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
